The Road to 2020:  Mobilizing Black Women Voters

In addition to the significant and ongoing threats to the security of our election infrastructure, COVID-19 presents a difficult and novel challenge to Black voters in the 2020 general election.

This session will arm Black women with the tools needed to prepare to vote and organize our networks to register to vote, verify our registration and vote safely and securely.  Individually and collectively Black women will work to ensure that every ballot counts; to maintain the security of the election; and to secure the safety of voters and election workers.

 Campaign Training 101: Running to Lead 

Trainers: A’shanti Gholar

Leaders matter, and we want to make sure they are equipped to run and serve their communities as candidates and elected officials. We understand that running a traditional campaign is not possible during the public health crisis. This training will cover how to effectively run, win and lead in 2020 and beyond.  If you are thinking about running for office, or want to help elect more Black women run for office, this training is for you.  You will learn the basic tools and resources needed to build an effective campaign and prepare to be an elected leader, ready to move this country to higher heights.

Fueling the Movement: Small Dollars. Big Change.

Trainers: Rachel Junard Kimberly Peeler-Allen

Grassroots digital fundraising can help Black women build their collective power and create winning movements on their own terms. By engaging small-dollar donors, you can build a campaign that has the money and the community support it takes to win!  In this training, we will teach you the power of small-dollar donors, the best practices for starting and running your digital fundraising program, and how to give supporters and partners a role in your fundraising!

Making My Mark: Developing and Amplifying Your Civic Voice

Trainers:   Ashley Bryant, Anoa J. Changa, Feminista Jones, Aprill O. Turner, Jamia Wilson

Let your voice be heard!  In this training, you’ll discover how to claim your voice, break through the noise and be heard. We will focus on how to sharpen your message, gain the power and confidence to get your message out into the world, use media as your megaphone, and leverage social media to build your platform.

Live In Your Light Boot Camp Session

Trainer: Rebecca Thompson

Invest an hour in your leadership development and join Black women from across the country as we explore finding clarity. This workshop will be led by Rebecca Thompson, who is a Clarity Coach for high achieving Black women and is the Founder of the Live In Your Light Boot Camp.  She will lead a workshop to help us all get clarity in this moment with a focus on the future.
