Higher Heights Congratulates Carol McDonald on Appointment as President of Planned Parenthood Southeast

BROOKLYN (November 16, 2023) – Higher Heights extends congratulations to founding member and former Board Chair Carol McDonald on their appointment as the President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Southeast. Carol is the first non-binary person of color to assume this leadership position. In this role, Carol will work to enhance access to sexual and reproductive health care, particularly amid challenges posed by abortion restrictions in the South focusing on Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama.

In response to Carol’s McDonald’s appointment, Chief of Staff Lisa Hargrove released the following statement:
