Stacey D. Hodge worked more than 20 years as an engineer in the public and private sector before transitioning into the non-profit sector. She currently serves as Higher Heights for America’s national program associate, where she leads candidate research, race analysis and provides support for member relations and fundraising.

Hodge has coordinated with elected officials, community groups, researchers, City, State and Federal agencies on transportation programs and policy.  In 2013, Hodge was appointed to the United States Department of Transportation’s National Freight Advisory Committee where she co-chaired the agency’s First and Last Mile Subcommittee focused on urban freight issues affecting cities. Hodge previously worked for the City of New York as Director of the Office of Freight Mobility, where she led a 13-person staff and managed a $6 million annual budget. From there, she transitioned into policy research, launching her consultancy SBI Strategies, Inc.

Hodge holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Florida Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University. She received a financial success for nonprofits certificate from Cornell University in 2018.
