L. Joy is Chairman Emeritus of Higher Heights for America and now serves as Chair of the Higher Heights PAC, where she leads efforts to engage Black women in supporting the organization’s endorsed candidates. She is also a founding member of Higher Heights for America.
Williams is a sought after political political strategists, public speaker, social justice advocate and media thought leader. She is the founder and principal of the New York-based consultancy LJW Strategies, president of the Brooklyn NAACP, and creator of the SirusXM weekly civic affairs show #SundayCivics.
In 2013, Williams worked to help successfully elect Letitia “Tish” James to the office New York City Public Advocate, and in 2014 she managed a midterm election campaign to turn out Black women voters for the Georgia and Ohio elections, increasing their participation by 10 percent.
