  • About the Chisholm Legacy Campaign

The Higher Heights Chisholm Legacy Campaign was designed to ensure a return on Black women’s decades-long investment in America by engaging Black women and their allies to invest in the full potential of Black women’s leadership.

Fifty years after Shirley Chisholm was sworn in as the first African-American woman to serve in Congress, Black women are growing and flexing their political strength across the country. From our overwhelming impact on elections to the increased number of Black women running and winning offices at the national, state and local levels, there is a burgeoning wave of electoral momentum.

The Chisholm Legacy Campaign aims to raise the resources for a sustained political movement that will shape American leadership in 2020 and beyond. The campaign seeks to train the next generation of Black women leaders and organize and mobilize Black women voters to elect officials who will be fully accountable and responsive to a progressive agenda.

    Amplify. Organize. Invest. Partner.

Count me in! I want to support Higher Heights’ Chisholm Legacy Campaign to unleash the organizing power of Black women at the polls and on the ballot in 2020 and beyond.
