About Attica Scott
In 2016, State Representative Attica Scott defeated a 34-year incumbent to become the first Black woman in nearly 20 years to serve in the state legislature.
Representative Scott serves Kentucky House District 41 where she is on the Education; Local Government; and Elections, Constitutional Amendments, and Intergovernmental Affairs Committees; and State Government and Transportation Work Group during the interim session. She volunteered as an English immersion teacher in Taining County, Fujian Province, China in July 2015.

About Angela Williams
Angela Williams is the current Colorado State Senator representing Senate District 33. Prior to beginning her first term as State Senator in 2017, she represented House District 7 in the Colorado House of Representatives for six years. Williams is the first African American female to serve as the House Majority Caucus Chair. Williams served as the Chair of the Business, Labor, Economic & Workforce Development Committee; and a member of the Legislative Council Committee. Williams also served as Vice-Chair of the Audit Committee as a freshman and later as its Chair. Williams founded the Colorado Black Democratic Legislative Caucus and currently serves as the Chairwoman. Williams is known as the Democrat business champion of the Colorado General Assembly.
