Higher Heights is partnering with other national Black women-led organizations to host events around the historic Senate Confirmation Hearing of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

If confirmed by the Senate, Judge Jackson – who currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit – would become the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court.

After a short hiatus, The Sip is Back! The Sip is our livestream programming that brings together five preeminent Black women-lead national organizations to gather Black women online across the country to be informed, engaged, to take action and practice self-care and joy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our favorite Sip Hosts will gather with special guests to kick off this historic Senate Confirmation Week to discuss what to expect and all things Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Supreme Court Rally in Celebration of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson  

Join the National Women’s Law Center Action Fund, She Will Rise, and the Black Women’s Roundtable for a rally in celebration of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s historic nomination to the Supreme Court.  

They will be centering joy as we rally outside the Supreme Court on the morning of Monday, March 21, to show Judge Jackson we have her back as she starts hearings in the Senate. Joined by step teams, gospel choirs, and HBCU delegations from across the country, we’ll be calling on the Senate to move quickly and without interruption on her confirmation.  

Higher Heights President and CEO Glynda Carr will give remarks at the rally.

The Black Women’s Leadership Collective is a leadership and organizing hub for Black women’s organizations, advocates, and supporters, utilizing the power of our collective efforts to support the nomination of the first Black woman to the U.S. Supreme Court.  Beginning March 21st, the Black Women’s Leadership Collective will livestream the full week of confirmation hearing activities to create an online community for Black women and our allies to watch this historic proceeding together, which will feature special guests to discuss up-to-the-moment analysis of the confirmation hearing.
